Thoughtful Thursday

As we end our National Library Week Celebrations, let's review:

The public library has all sorts of FREE activities for the entire family, plus free homework assistance. You have a limited use library card tied to your lunch number, but your family can get a library card with full borrowing privileges for FREE.  When the public libraries reopen, you can check out state park passes, wifi hot spots, video games, specialty shaped cake pans and a whole lot more.

There are some famous ladies who really support libraries that you should know about:
Melinda Gates (wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates)
Laura Bush (former First Lady and wife of Bush 43 - also a children's librarian back in the day)
Sandra Deal (former First Lady of Georgia - a teacher who loved to read to as many schools as possible in GA while her husband was Governor).

Activities:
(1) Watch the Library video in Brain Pop/Brain Pop Jr.  Take the quiz.
(2) Enjoy the following fun video. Don't worry, you don't have to turn yours in until we come back to school next year.  Let's play a game!  Once you find your library books, take a picture and upload it to Twitter. Be sure to tag the library @RiversideInter2.

The video was about going to the library and checking out the books. The teacher explains to the students that you have to bring the books back or you will have to pay for them if you don’t bring them back on time or loose them.
