Maker Monday - Kid's Cook Edition
When I ran library reports to see which books were the most popular among our River Role Models, there was one non-fiction category that made the top 10 - COOK BOOKS! Apparently, we have some budding young chefs in our Riverside community. So, today's Maker Monday is all about cooking with kids!
Food Network hosts a television show for kids called Chopped Junior. Check out this video of 8th graders competing to make the best Mac & Cheese (yum! yum!).
Here are a couple of websites devoted to cooking with kids:

What if I want a COOK BOOK?
We have quite a few available through the Cobb Digital Library/MackinVia. (Use O365 login) Simply click on the Ebooks category and then search using "cook" or "cookbook". The really cool thing about many of these cookbooks is that they come with a multi-user license, so you and a friend can read/cook together at the same time. Here are a couple to try:
Just for fun, compare the Mac & Cheese recipe in here with the ones made on Chopped Junior!
.Activity: Use MackinVia to find a cookbook that interests you.
(1) Add the title to your Favorites/Backpack.
(2) Find a recipe in the cookbook that you'd like to make. Copy it down on a piece of paper or recipe card.
(3) Leave a comment telling me which recipe you chose and why.
Optional: Ask your grown-up if they can help you make your recipe!
