Whew! There's a lot going on this week!
Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is on February 13th. Although celebrated worldwide, it is typically associated with New Orleans here in the USA. It is the last big hurrah of parades, partying and overindulgence of food before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Lent is the 40 day period of self-reflection/self-denial leading up to Easter Sunday. In 2018, Lent begins Valentine's Day (2/14) and ends on April Fool's Day (4/1). The dates for Easter change each year, but this is the first time I ever remember Ash Wednesday and Easter falling on the same days as other holidays.
