Summer's almost half over

6/27/2014

My how the time flies during summer break!

Are you reading?   Your cereal box and the Minecraft guide count.

Are you learning something new every day?  You don't have to be in the classroom to learn!

Are you exercising?  Walk, bike, swim.  Repeat.

Are you having fun?  Do I hear a "yes"?  LOUDER!

Need some ideas for Reading Activities?

(1) Fizz! Boom! Read! @ the Cobb County Public Library.
(2) R.E.A.D. to Boomer at the Kemp Memorial Library on July 16th or come see us on July 24th @ 11:00 a.m. for a fun program and craft activity under the watchful eye of Ms. Carmella.
(3) Read to Lead @ Hayes sponsored by Sanctuary Church every Wednesday from from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
(4) If you are a Radical Reader, be sure to attend the summer book exchanges with Mrs. Whorton, Mrs. Spencer and Ms. Thomas.  (Pssst:  I'm also reading the entire list over summer break but don't tell Mrs. Spencer!)

We have a TON of new books (print and electronic) waiting for you in August.  We also have some Kindles that will be available for check-out. Part of my summer homework is to attend the ISTE convention at the World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta next week.  I'll get to see all the latest and greatest in educational technology.  I can't wait to see all the cool stuff!

That's all for now.  Keep on reading!

See you soon,
Mrs. Kent
